Kyra Spence is a writer from Philadelphia. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was the recipient of the University of Iowa MFA Summer Fellowship. She earned her BA from Barnard College, where her work was recognized by the Sidney Minor Prize for distinction in the study and writing of poetry, the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, and the Peter S. Prescott Prize for Prose Writing. She teaches creative writing and English literature, and her work has appeared in Anacapa Review, Lammergeier, Bodega Magazine, DIAGRAM, Mantis, Bennington Review, and elsewhere.
